The user interface
During the conception and development of the application we placed a lot of
emphasis on the creation of a
simple and intuitive user interface.
All functions and settings are easily accessed and the different screens are not
overloaded with controls. Working with the system is easy and fun.
Media data
All relevant media fields can be captured. Besides general media fields you can also capture
specific data like location, rating or - starting with the Premium Edition - up to five additional
user-defined fields. These fields will be shown on the entry screens as well as in the reports.

You can enter the data manual - whereby the system offers comprehensive support like the use of code
table functionality - or let the system complement the data via web query.
Starting with the Premium Edition the solution offers a web quick entry via ISBN or EAN number - very
useful if you are the owner of a scanner. It allows the entry of a large volume of media records in a
very short time. In addition it is possible to enter media records by list - just open a list of ISBN or
EAN numbers and let the system enter the data itself...
The media overview
The application is so designed to give you a direct overview of all your media. You can filter and sort
the media directly in the overview list. And besides the fixed filter from the menu you also have a very
powerful filter functionality within the list view itself. A right mouse click on the column header opens
up a submenu where you can create a complex filter:
Another highlight of the overview is the grouping function (starting with the Premium Edition). If you want
to group the media list according to a common property (like publisher or author) all you have to do is to
drag the column into the grouping area at the top of the list:
Important: We have a lot of queries in relation to the volume of data that can be displayed within
the overview. We use a special technique to display even large volumes of media (more than 10,000) very quickly.

Reports and Analysis
Of course we also build in an extensive reporting system. The application contains
a variety of standard reports and analysis that can be opened up with a simple mouse click. We use
an innovative technique with which you can print out only the desired data in the desired order.
In contrast with other programs in which you must define the data to be printed on a report by entering
parameter (for example if you want to print out a list of all books for a specific author) and where the
parameter fields are pretty fixed - the Medien Center Editions use the main overview as a base for the reports.
Because this data can be filtered and sorted in an extended way, it means that data on the reports can be
chosen very easily.
The filter functionality is very comprehensive and very dynamic. You can filter data by a variety of criteria,
sort them and print them accordingly. Wish-lists, Already-Read lists etc are easy to create...
Support and customizing
We are of course very keen to keep our products free of errors and always up-to-date. As you
will hear from our current customers - we provide comprehensive and prompt support and are always open
to suggestions to improve our application. Our free updates (usually every 3 months) not only correct errors
but also often contain new functionality.

The Editions
You can chose from three editions, tailored to meet the needs of our users:

The Home Edition is a single-user system that saves its data into a local Microsoft Access database.
Designed as an entry-level system it is of modular build – this means that the different collection categories (books, music, movies
and software) can be purchased separately or in combinations. You can purchase the book category and additionally the music category
for example. This makes this edition not only flexible in its use but also in its price.

The Premium Edition can be purchased as a single- or multi-user (MB) system. Its uses - like the Home Edition - a Microsoft
Access database to save data and includes all media categories by default. In addition to the Home Edition it offers greatly extended
functionality and makes it therefore the preferred solutions for the more ambitious user, collector or smaller library. This version
contains for example user defined fields, powerful grouping functions, quick entry via ISBN or EAN (list and scanner), the option to
create own reports.

The Enterprise Edition is a multi-user system for libraries, schools, companies with their own library, etc. with a large
volume of media. It will also suit collectors who want to enjoy the benefits of a professional database. This edition can use either
a Microsoft SQL Server or a MySQL server database and allows therefore the maintenance of a virtually unlimited volume of media.
